About Tara Tara has been riding since she was 4 years old. Exposed to many disciplines including Western, Hunters, Jumpers, and Eventing -- she fell in love with Dressage.
Tara graduated Johnson & Wales University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Equine Business Management/Riding in 2016. While at Johnson & Wales, Tara became a USDF Bronze Medalist and also trained in Germany and received her German Small & Large Bronze Medals. She also was the captain of the Johnson & Wales Intercollegiate Dressage Team for 3 years.
Tara then went on to train Lusitanos with two USDF Gold Medalists and international trainers. While riding under their tutelage, Tara learned to train horses from Green to Grand Prix. Tara successfully competed through 4th level Dressage in Florida achieving half of her USDF Silver Medal and gaining her Professional Status in Dressage. She then continued to develop her training through Grand Prix.
Focus Tara’s main goal is to create harmony between horse and rider and maintain relaxation. She strives to have both the horse and rider find the “lightbulb” moment.
Tara enjoys working with riders and horses of all levels and ages. She also enjoys developing young horses through the levels. Tara specializes in horses that are “tricky” in the connection and difficult to get in front of the leg. She also enjoys working with mares and will work with any breed of horse.
